Quittin' Time

I'm glad today is over. It was a hard day at daddy's work. I was so busy, I barely even got a lunch break. Now that the work day is over, though, I'm looking forward to relaxing evening. I certainly deserve it after my long day at daddy's work.

Chew

So this morning I wasn't really tired after my morning constitutional. Daddy was asleep and not entertaining me, so I decided to play a few rounds of Chew, a game I invented. Chew is closely related to another game called Lick, and the rules are simple -- you just chew on anything you can find. It can be blankets, toys, mommy's nose -- whatever looks interesting at the time. Right now I'm working on a stuffed Barney. Despite the fun, I've noticed that sometimes humans are not willing participants in this game. A few weeks ago, there was an unfortunate incident involving daddy's ear. Don't worry though, I've apologized and we're cool now. Wait -- is that squeaky toy? Gotta go, I'm determined to win this game of Chew.

Rain, rain, go away

It's raining out. And I'm not happy. Not a fan of rain. First, it makes me wet and I don't like getting wet. Second, it makes the ground wet. Do you have any idea how unpleasant it is to walk on wet grass with bare paws? I'll tell you -- very unpleasant. Third, it's Wednesday, so mommy and daddy are supposed to take me to the outdoor movie nearby so that all the passerbys can tell me how cute I am and I can eat snausages. I guess mommy and daddy must watch the movie, but I never really pay attention -- there's snausages, remember? If it keeps raining out, I'm not going to get my snausages. And that doesn't make me happy.

Mornings

Ugh! I hate mornings! Mommy makes me get up every morning at 6 to go outside and "do my business." Tell me, if my "business" has to be done outside -- trust me, I've tried to do it inside and the response was not favorable -- why do I also have to go to work with daddy every day? After I'm back inside, though, I like to cuddle up under the covers with my frog and go back to sleep for my early-morning nap. Not to be confused with my mid-morning or late-morning naps, which, of course, come later in the day....

Pita Chips

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a snacker. I love anything that crunches. And sometimes those biscuit "treats" just don't do the job for me. When I'm really looking for something to satisfy my snackin' cravin', I'll reach for some pita chips. Now if only they'd make the bag a little easier to open with my paws....

Baxter goes to work

Hi everyone! I'm just taking a few moments while daddy is away from the computer to let you know about my daily grind. Daddy takes me to work with him every day! Ugh! I help him send emails before he is ready to send them, add my own letters to important documents (doesn't MS Word have Dogese in the spell checker?), and move the cursor with my paw. Sure I only work for about five minutes before I need a nap break, but what does he expect? I'm less than three months old.

Uh oh, he's coming back. Be cool. C U l8tr.

Hi, I'm Baxter....

Hello! And welcome to my blog. My name is Baxter and I'm an almost 12-week old puggle. I live in a condo in the Maryland suburbs of Washington D.C. with my human mommy and daddy. A little about me -- I was born in early May and I came to live with my mommy and daddy at the end of June. My favorite past times include chewing, chewing, and more chewing.
